Latest news

June 3.    Games room is soooo close to being finished. I hope to move in before I head to Bundaberg for Paul Larter's Convention over the long weekend. If you're in the Bundy region, drop in and have a squizz at what conventions are all about - fun and cool figures & terrain. I'm gearing up for Genconoz in September but may be convinced to attend Slouch Hat, Lismore in July. Good luck to Llew Rushton of South Australia. He's organising his first FOW tournie including his brand new UTTT terrain board this weekend. Send me piccies Llew.
I'm starting a 'Painting Services' button on my home page soon (1 to 2 wks). It's for both figure and terrain painting gurus who want to showcase their talents. Drop me a line if you want in. At present, it will be restricted to those whose work I can personally vouch for.
Enjoy your gaming this weekend, I certainly will.
May 8.    Had an enjoyable weekend with Jason Montague and his WARG team (see Jan 21) at SPLASHDOWN in Gladstone. Tested out my table's suitability for Warhammer 40000 and did a bit of missionary work for Flames of War. Thanks to Jason, Cheryl, Steve, Mark and Jason for making me feel so welcome. They have a fun loving, multi-agegroup and very supportive club membership. I WILL be back.
DIY Expansion Pack 2 (Beach)  has just been released. It contains 5xBarts, 1 Bart half-tile (10mm thick rather than the 15mm thickness of regular half-tiles), 5xBart spikes, 1xBart tack, and one of each of the Bart inserts (Basics, Beach and Boulevarde). The rrp is $260 and it is available to members only.
This would be a handy time to revisit the levels of membership http://www.uttt.com.au/membership.html
Next public Showing  Bundy Miniatures and Games, Bundeburg, Queen's Birthday long weekend. See you there.
 Apr 16.
Spent our honeymoon in a rainforest cabin overlooking a mountain stream that went from being a gurgling brook to a raging torrent after 200+mm of rain. Surreal, unforgetable experience. I hope to model it in the first of the 5H range later this year. In the meantime, 4H1 and 2 are moulding nicely (pics soon), 4H3 is at the casting stage and 4H4 and 5 are nearing completion. They will allow stepped terrain with multiple levels. Point Letitia's mould has torn and I will be struggling to get a half dozen out of it. It's costly and time consuming to replace so if you want one (gold members only) get your order in now. We are now 6 weeks into the extension construction (with two weeks of rain) and I'm thinking of keeping the excavator that's sitting in the front yard. I'd rather have an AFV but I could paint it cammo and pretend that it's a recovery vehicle. Patience Al, nothing worthwhile happens quickly (just ask Inga).
Keep the e-mails coming.

Mar 30.
Welcome our newest distributor, Llew Rushton from South Australia. He's working on a Belgium theme for his world and is keen to gather a flock of UTTT members in the Adelaide area to help him out. If you're interested, drop him a line at llew@adam.com.au.
Meanwhile, have a look at what Member # 07 (alright, 007 if you like) is doing with The Ruined Keep at
http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&forumid=52&view=topic&postid=424280&afsort=DESC .
The house extension looks more like a handball court and my wedding is less than two weeks away. I'm staying sane by creating the first 5 overlays in the 4H range (4 x hill hex-sides). When finished, they will allow tiered terrain tables.
I've almost got enough of the new 'Point Letitia' Special Collector tile to go public. Check back next month if you're tongue'in for one to finish your beach.
Meanwhile, have fun, stay sane and keep those terrain enquiries coming.
Feb 11.
Thanks to all who played on my table at Cancon for looking after it so well.
Welcome too to the new UTTT members and Habitation owners. I look forward to drooling over your worlds.
I'm presently giving the rest of my tiles (~60) their 16000km reflock to match the new style.
Next showing will be at Times of War at Hendra, Brisbane: 14th and 15th of Febuary.
2009
Jan 21.
    Happy 2009 everybody.
Lots of new stuff planned for this year (and lots of travelling too).
UTTT will have a gameboard in the FOW comp at CANCON (Canberra Jan 24 to 26).
Since the comp period is midwar, I have assembled a Salerno (-esque) table that highlights the versatility of the BART tile.
If you want to find me, I'll be playing in the FOW comp (and puffing on my pipe out the back between rounds).
There's a new club on the Queensland Central coast.
Check out the W.A.R.G website at http://www.wargladstone.webs.com/
Contact the club president, Jason Montague for details. He loves a chat.
See you at the convention (go the 31. Panzer Regiment).

Dec 5.
No new modelling this month. I'm knee deep in a construction zone at present and will be until late April.
I should get my production facilities back in action later this month though, so stock levels should improve.
Thanks to all the members, guests, (hackers) and lurkers who stayed with me through the long delays this year.
There's better stuff to come next year.
Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
 Nov 13.
Want to see what I've been up to lately?
Been doing a photo shoot for the third edition Koenig Kreig rule book.
You can see it at http://koenigkrieg.com/gallery/v3pics/gallery.html .
Next major showing will be Cancon 09.
    More later.
Oct 28.
The website saga has finally ended. I will now be able to update more frequently (but don't expect a blog).
First mention goes to Anthea Wright (see Links) for the Griffin that now adorns the UTTT shield.
Leon Bradford (www.dashstudios.com.au) is my newest best friend for his website conversion skills.
Additional new stuff this month
1. New Gallery photos of Genconoz (finally).
2. New Tutorial segment on tile preparation to incorporate BART and the Snaggas.

Wargames terrain tiles

UTTT manufactures and sells a range of terrain tiles and accessories, designed to form war gaming tables of superior quality. 25 years of planning and prototypes has led to this high grade commercial product based on the 'Griffin Terrain System'. The Griffin Terrain System uses a hex-based modular mentality which allows the owner to create a variety of diorama-quality wargaming boards

Although already highly detailed, these products have been designed with the master terrain makers in mind, those that can be inspired by my 'canvases' to create truly remarkable battlefields.

Browse through the site to learn more about UTTT and the Griffin Terrain System, our products and the advantages available to members.

Please join me in my Journey.

Al Griffin.
